The Hero & Heroine Awards are GaydarRadio's way of celebrating LGBT History Month, recognising the people who influence and make a difference to the LGBT community. Every Sunday for the next 12 weeks, GaydarRadio will be interviewing one of these very people.
These awards are your chance to nominate and vote for the people you think make a significant contribution to our lives. Get your thinking caps on and see who you'd like to nominate as a Hero or Heroine for 2012!
Voting for this year's Heroes & Heroines has now closed. The winners will be announced on GaydarRadio on Sunday 1 April 2012.
There are ten Hero and Heroine categories including Pop Artist, Campaigner, Fictional Character, Writer and Hero or Heroine of the Year. The top five finalists in each category were pitted against each other and you, the public, voted for the most heroic recipients.
