The eighth annual LGBT History Month takes place throughout February. This year's theme is sport and activities are happening throughout the month.
Sue Sanders is the co-founder of LGBT History Month and tells Scott Roberts about some of this year's events - which include conferences, community discussions and artistic celebrations.
Sue's also been sharing her thoughts on the government's commitment to tackle homophobia in schools.
