Mind that much if the Gossip Girl writers had him stepping up to bat for our team at some point. You see, later volumes of the book series that inspired the show see Dan bag himself a boyfriend.

“Yeah, I think he’s straight up gay in the books”, said Penn about his character back in the show’s early days. “Let’s say the show builds up to become a hit, then I think they’d explore it in year three or four. It would be an interesting thing to do. It could bring in a whole different demographic”. Well, the show’s now definitely a hit and we’re up to series five, so what are they waiting for?!

Going by his recent PDA with his girlfriend, no, he’s not. He was also once engaged to his Gossip Girl co-star Blake Lively – and no, unfortunately we’re not talking about a bloke. It’s just a woman with an unusual name – the one who plays ‘It girl’ Serena.
